Invicta Speedway Chronograph: Complete Model Guide (2026)
If the Pro Diver is Invicta's workhorse dive watch, the Speedway is its statement chronograph. Racing-inspired. Bold. Precise. The kind of watch that tells the room you care about timepieces, not just time.
At Tulsa Timepiece Company, the Speedway is our #2 best-selling Invicta model after the Pro Diver. Here's everything we've learned hand-inspecting hundreds of them.
What Is the Speedway?
The Speedway collection launched in the late 1990s as Invicta's answer to the legendary Omega Speedmaster — at roughly 1/100th the price. It's a chronograph (stopwatch-capable), usually with three sub-dials, a tachymeter bezel, and case sizes in the 40-48mm range.
Unlike the Pro Diver which leans utilitarian, the Speedway leans aggressive — bigger lugs, more muscular case shapes, and dial designs that scream "look at me" without crossing into costume-watch territory.
Core Specs
- Case material: 316L stainless steel (standard across collection)
- Case size: 40–48mm depending on model
- Crystal: Flame Fusion (scratch and shock resistant)
- Movement: Precision Japanese quartz chronograph
- Water resistance: 100–200m depending on model
- Sub-dials: Usually 3 (1/10 second, 60-minute, running seconds)
- Tachymeter: Yes — typically on the bezel
The Chronograph Function
Every Speedway is a chronograph, meaning it can time intervals using the three sub-dials. To use it:
- Top right pusher: Start/stop the timer
- Bottom right pusher: Reset to zero
- Middle sub-dial: Counts minutes (up to 60)
- Left sub-dial: Counts 1/10 seconds
- Right sub-dial: Continuously-running seconds (confirms the movement is alive)
Combined with the tachymeter bezel, you can calculate speed over a measured distance: time one mile, read the tachymeter = your speed in MPH.
Top Speedway Models

The entry-level Speedway. Steel bracelet, dark dial, three sub-dials, tachymeter bezel. Looks like a $500 watch.
Invicta Speedway Dominus (~$129.99)
Mid-range Speedway with bolder case, gold accents, and upgraded finishing. Popular gift for men who like sportier watches.

Who Should Buy the Speedway?
The Speedway is ideal for:
- Men who want a chronograph without paying $500+ for a Tag Heuer Formula 1
- First-time chronograph buyers learning the genre
- Gift recipients who like bolder watch designs
- Anyone interested in motorsports aesthetic
- Collectors adding a chronograph slot to their rotation
Sizing Considerations
Speedways run larger than Pro Divers. The 48mm case is substantial — fine on a 7+ inch wrist, overwhelming on a 6.5 inch wrist.
Measure your wrist before buying:
- Wrist 6–6.5": Stick with 40mm Speedway models
- Wrist 6.5–7": 43–45mm works great
- Wrist 7+": Full 47–48mm is comfortable
